Of Note:
- D637,201 lists Timothy E. Wasko and Steven P. Jobs as inventors, and appears to claim the design of early Aqua stoplight elements. The patent has a filing date of May 6, 2010, yet the claimed design image carries a 2001 copyright notice.
- Apple appears to be seeking design patent protection over an increasing number of internal components not even visible to the end user. This is likely an effective way to exert control over the third-party upgrade market. For instance, D637,193 and D637,192 appear to be the "blade" SSDs from the Macbook Air. Perhaps these design patents partially explain the cancellation of Photofast's upgrade kits.
